APHIDS:  We are starting to see larger numbers of wingless aphids in potato fields in the Columbia Basin. In total, aphids were found in 46% of the fields we monitored this week. The field with the largest number of aphids had 4 aphids per plant, up from 2.2 aphids per plant last week. Monitor your fields at least weekly for aphids.

APHIDS:  We are starting to see more wingless aphids in potato fields in the Columbia Basin. In total, aphids were found in 44% of the fields we monitored this week. The field with the largest number of aphids had 2.2 aphids per plant, up from 1.4 aphids per plant last week. Monitor your fields at least weekly for aphids. It can be difficult to control large aphid infestations; it often takes a couple of insecticide applications to regain control.
